Wawasee Kiwanis Triathlon & 5K Run/Walk

 The Wawasee Kiwanis club invites you to sign up for their 10th Annual Sprint Triathlon or the new 5K Run/Walk!  This event will take place on August 12, from 8am to 11am, at the Syracuse Community Center. This sprint triathlon is a USAT sanctioned event. Join them for this fun event that benefits local charities here in Syracuse. For more information, go to wawaseekiwanis.org. 

Wawasee Flotilla Fundraiser Cruise

Teen Parents Succeeding Golf Outing

Come join the fun at the Tippecanoe Lake Country Club on Monday, August 14 for the Teen Parents Succeeding Golf Outing. An entry fee of $350 includes greens fees and lunch for four people. SPL Walks on Syracuse/Wawasee Trails

Thursday, July 27th starts with an early walk at 9:15 a.m. followed by an activated stretch sequence using chairs and towels as props at the Syracuse Public Library. The walks that connect with the Trails will continue to meet every week through the fall.

SPL Silly Safaris

The Syracuse Public Library is having Silly Safaris bring in animals and animal stories on Tuesday, July 25th at 2 p.m. The animals that come enjoy being around children and many enjoy being petted.

SPL Author and Former Lake Resident Amy S. Peele Presents

 Adults are invited to hear author and former lake resident, Amy S. Peele, on Wednesday, July 26th at 2 pm at the Syracuse Public Library.  Peele has spent over 40 years as a transplant coordinator and her current book is a murder mystery that reflects her passion for the world of organ donation. She will be signing copies of Cut and speaking about her experiences as a transplant coordinator. Learn about the health reasons that cause the need for replacement organs.

MPL Tool Time Story Time with Tina Ervin

Attendees will create crafts, eat a snack, and listen to stories at the last Summer Story Time on July 28, 10 am and 11 am at the Milford Public Library. Tina Ervin, former Milford Public Library clerk and current Children’s librarian at Goshen Public Library, will interact with children in a Tool Time Story Time. Each family attending will receive a free book.  Fall Story Time will begin in September for those aged 3-6.

MPL Teens Create A Chew Toy

Teens going into 6 grade through 12th grade are invited to create a chew toy for a dog on July 27, 2 pm at the Milford Public Library. Bring old t-shirts you can cut into strips and use to make the chew toys.  They are going to donate the finished toys to Kosciusko County Animal Welfare League.  Snacks will be served at this last teen event of the summer.

MPL State Park Pass

Hoosiers can check out an all 2017 season free entrance pass at the Milford public library for Indiana’s 32 State parks. This pass cannot be placed on hold and is checked out on a first come first serve basis. For more information contact the library at 574-658-4312.

MPL Stack It Up with Mr. Jim

Magician, Mr. Jim, will present a hands-on building program July 26 at 2:00pm at the Milford Community Building. His Stack It Up program will build skills like coordination, concentration, motivation, determination, team-work, and more! This is a fun and free program, sponsored by the Milford Public Library, all ages will enjoy.
