Mudtastic Classic

The 4th Annual Mudtastic Classic will be held on Saturday, June 23 on trails near the WACF Education Center located on State Road 13, one mile south of Syracuse. This mud run will feature several fun and challenging obstacles along trails near Lake Wawasee. Both adults and kids (ages 7-14) will have the opportunity to participate in teams or as individuals.

Participants can register in person at the Syracuse Community Center or online at runreg.com/mudtasticclassic. Additional information is available by going to the website.

SCC Free Family Movie Matinee

The Syracuse Community Center will host a Free Summer Family Movie Matinee on Wednesday, June 20th at 1pm.  Enjoy the movie Ferdinand.  Free popcorn will be served.  Bring your blanket or chair.  For more information, call 574-457-3440.

NWCPL Cowboy Show

The North Webster Community Public Library invites summer reading participants to join Randy Erwin for the Cowboy Show on Wednesday, June 27th from 8:00 am to 5:00 pm. Kids will learn about cowboy life through singing, yodeling, trick roping, authentic cowboy music, history, and folklore. For more information call 574-834-7122. 

MPL Stem Day

Children and teens will rearrange broken toys and stuffed animal parts to create a whole new toy they can keep on Wednesday, June 27 at the Milford Public Library. Bring a friend to this FREE STEM day program!  Sessions are available at 10:30 am, 12:30 pm, and 2:30 pm. Register by calling 658-4312 or at the children’s circulation desk. No library card needed. All supplies provided.

MPL Michael Jackson Tribute

The Milford Public Library invites the whole family to enjoy a free Michael Jackson Tribute on Friday, June 29 at 7 pm in the Milford Community Building. Watch Jovan Carter as he dances to some of Michael Jackson’s biggest hits! Seating is limited so arrive early to get a good seat. This program lasts about 45 minutes. No library card or registration needed.

Milford Kiwanis 5K

The Milford Kiwanis Club invites you to participate in their 5K Run/Walk on Saturday, June 9th.  There are cash prizes for the fastest male and female.  Proceeds go to community projects including Boomerang Backpack, Food Pantry, New Beginnings Childcare and Riley Children’s Hospital.  Preregister at runsignup.com or the day of the race.  Registration begins at 8 AM and the race starts at 9 AM at the Waubee Lake Park. 

Wawasee Flotilla

This year’s Wawasee Flotilla will be Saturday, July 7th on Lake Wawasee.  This is the 57th annual parade with the theme “Superheroes”.  You need to register in order to be eligible to win an award.  Registration forms are available at local retailers and Team Tuttle Mortgage, or you can call 574-457-3775.   

Wawasee Volleyball Summer Camp 2018

Students in grades 3 to 9, the 2018-19 school year, can participate in the Wawasee Volleyball Summer Camp June 25th – 28th at Wawasee Middle School.  Wawasee Volleyball Camp is designed to be a fun and challenging camp experience where younger players learn and develop the techniques that are the focus of the high school program.  Registration deadline is Friday, June 8th. Space is limited, so please register early to reserve your spot.  For more information, contact Mrs. Denlinger at Wawasee Middle School or Ms. Riportella at Wawasee High School.

Wawasee Baseball Summer Camp

The Wawasee High School Baseball coaching staff and players will conduct a summer baseball camp for current 3rd through 8th graders. The camp will feature instruction on all areas of the game. It will be held at the high school baseball field. Register at the Wawasee High School athletic desk before Friday, June 15th.

SPL Civil War Program

The Syracuse Public Library presents Carleton Young, who wrote Voices in the Attic after viewing the locations that came from a Civil War correspondence between a Vermont family and their soldiers. Young is a history scholar and through serendipity he inherited the packet of letters. His further research recorded both the hand-written letters adding the context of the war. Young is presenting the letters in a slideshow presentation at the library on Wednesday, June 13th at 6:30 p.m.
