The Syracuse Public Library is bringing an open mic night to people that want to hear some riffing on Frankenstein. The event is open for presenters and audience members at the Syracuse Lakeside Park gazebo on Friday, July 20th at 7 p.m. People wanting to put their name on the performance roster are asked to check-in at 6:30 p.m. The evening is slated to include many people in the community with songs and music, poetry, excerpts from books, and original writings.

Seating is first come, bring your own chair. The event is underwritten from a grant from the Indiana Humanities and the National Endowment for the Humanities, so that communities in Indiana can celebrate the 200th anniversary of the writing of Mary Shelley's Frankenstein.
