Exceptional Learners

Wawasee offers a number of programs and services for the exceptional learners in their home schools.

Wawasee schools provide comprehensive special education services for students with disabilities, ages 3 through 22.  Students are educated in their home schools in the least restrictive environment that appropriately fits their academic and social needs, and provides functional skills programming at the developmental level in central locations.  Wawasee Special Education staff is dedicated to providing a continuum of services to meet the development needs of all students within the school corporation, in accordance with Indiana Article 7.


Children who are served through the Wawasee Special Education programs include the following special needs areas:

As the Director of Exceptional Needs at Wawasee Schools I have the privilege of working in a corporation filled with a dedicated staff of service providers, teachers, administrators, parents and a great group of students.  At Wawasee we are dedicated to student centered programming to help prepare our students for success in their future academic and employment endeavors.
