WHS Book Club

We meet twice a month, during Warrior Time, to discuss a variety of popular titles.

Our first meeting will be Friday, August 30th!!!

Soil Judging Practice will be held this Tuesday, August 27 from 3-4:30 in the Ag Building. Contact Mrs. Roberts if you have any questions!

The Wawasee FFA Chapter will be hosting its annual Chapter Kickoff on Friday, September 13 from 3-6pm. All are welcome to attend for food, fun, and to find out what FFA is all about!

STUDENTS! Congresswoman Jackie Walorski invites you to Service Academy Night on Thursday, September 5, 2019 from 5:30 to 7:30 p.m. It will be held at the Mishawaka Public Library, 209 Lincolnway East, Mishawaka, IN. You will (1) Learn about US Service Academies, (2) Get details on the application process and (3) Meet academy representatives from US Naval Academy; US Merchant Marine Academy; US Military Academy; US Air Force Academy and US Coast Guard Academy. Students who plan on driving to school and parking on school property must purchase a NEW parking tag for $10.00. The previous year's tag will be invalid. If you are planning to receive your license within the school year, plan to purchase your tag by October 1st. After this date, parking tags will be $20.00.

If you want to help people and better our school, you should join Student Council! We are involved in setting up and leading in many events including Homecoming, Pow Wow, the Veteran’s Day program, Semi Formal, and more. We also help with other student, staff, and community service activities. If you’re interested in Student Council, you can pick up an application in Mrs. Myers room: C107. We'll meet once a week after school for an hour to make art and connect with other artists. We have several mural projects planned, as well as building a kiln. We'll go on several field trips to experience great art and culture. We want to fill our school and community with great art!

DECA will have a call-out meeting on Tuesday, August 27th at 7:20 am in Mrs. Long's room B210.

Drama Club Call Out Meeting! If you are interested in joining Drama Club come to Mrs. Bonner's room (A108) after school on Wednesday, August 28th. We will discuss things we do and our NYC trip that is next year! Everyone is welcome...not just actors. If you like the arts you'll love it!

Performing Arts Students:

There are copies of the A Christmas Carol script in the LRC for students to check out and read if they are interested in auditioning for the fall play.

93.7 FM The Mix & CPG-TV is looking for students to work our Football, Boys & Girls home Basketball games. You don’t have to be in the Radio/TV Class to participate. Please stop by the studio’s and talk to Mr. Van Lue or Mr. Huffman.

Are you a student at Wawasee High School? Then we want YOU for the Flag Football Team!! You do not have to be a star athlete! We meet only 3 times a week for most of the season and after school practices are only 1 hour long! Unified Flag Football is a collaboration between the IHSAA and the Special Olympics designed to create a more inclusive community at WHS through a fun and active team experience. If you are interested in joining the team please contact Mr Wilson ( or stop by Mr Shipley's room B107 before or after school. Practices have already started but we are always looking for more teammates!!

Any student interested in participating in Baseball this spring, there will be an informational meeting regarding Fall Workouts on Wednesday, 8/28 at 3:30 pm in the Lecture Room. Only students currently not in a Fall Sport should attend.

In Sports:

The Girls Golf teams defeated Westview and Mishawaka Marian. Wawasee 239, Mishawaka Marian 250 and Westview 303.

The Boys Tennis teams lost to Plymouth last night. Picking up his first win as a JV player was jay Duncan 8-4.

The Boys Varsity Soccer team tied South Bend Riley last night 3 to 3. Brandon Tayagua scored while Chris Pena scored twice. The JV team won 2-1. Goals were made by Alec Beighler and Garrett Stuckman.

Sports Schedule:

The Varsity Football team will open their season tonight by hosting Lakeland. Kickoff is at 7:00 pm.

Events for Saturday Include:

The Girls Golf team will compete in the Rochester Invite. Tee time is 7:30 am

The JV Volleyball team will host an invitational. Competing will be Bethany Christian, Manchester, Wabash, Elkhart Christian Academy, Washington, Lakeland, and West Noble. The invite starts at 9:00 am.

The JV Football team will travel to Lakeland. Kickoff is at Noon.

The Girls Soccer team will travel to Westview. Kickoff is at 1:30 pm.
