12 more weeks of school.
Let’s keep up the good work!
You Got This!!
Thru tomorrow, the student council is hosting a Kindness Week. Your teachers will give you a paper heart to decorate with a school appropriate positive message during the 15 minute study time of 4th period. There will also be a door decorating contest. The theme is anything that inspires kindness and positive thinking. The winning door gets some yummy treats for the 4th period class.
Last but not least, there is going to be Wawasee’s first Kindness Court. Similar to Homecoming and Prom, there will be a number of students nominated to represent each grade but instead of “cute couples” or popular people being nominated, they decided to switch things up and let the teachers nominate who they think represents good character and positivity.
Wawasee JAG has been hard at work for the last 6 weeks preparing for our virtual Career Development Conference and Friday the results were announced. There were 14 schools competing and we are SO proud of how Wawasee did. The full video is below but it is slightly long so here's a quick recap of how Wawasee did.

From the Nurse
I've had a couple of questions lately regarding resources to help quit e-cigarettes, tobacco products, and vaping so I thought I would share with all of you in the event you find yourself in need of assistance.
Truth Initiative has a program that is text based.
This innovative and free text message program was created with input from teens, college students and young adults who have attempted to, or successfully, quit e-cigarettes. The program is tailored by age group to give teens and young adults appropriate recommendations about quitting. The program will also serve as a resource for parents looking to help their children who now vape. Youth and young adults can access the new e-cigarette quit program by texting "DITCHJUUL" to 88709. Parents and other adults looking to help young people quit should text "QUIT" to (202) 899-7550.
Local Access to an In-Person Support Group
If you are interested in a local in-person support group. Email me and I will connect you with the program leader. There is a youth meeting every Saturday at 10am in Warsaw.
Have a great day!
