We currently have a freshman team that is for freshman only. Our junior varsity and varsity football teams are open to all high school grades, but the JV team is usually made up of sophomores and juniors, and the varsity team is typically juniors and seniors. To be eligible for high school football, students must have complete a physical and an athletic packet. Students must meet the requirements for practices before the first game. Unified Flag Football

Any student at Wawasee can participate in this fun sport. We are an inclusive activity but also a Varsity level, IHSAA sanctioned athletic team. ALL students are welcome! Practices After school, usually an hour long, a few times per week.

Warrior Swimming offers training and practice groups for swimmers of all ages and ability levels. It is the goal of Warrior Swimming to offer age specific training for all of our athletes geared towards challenging each individual and developing each individual to the best of THEIR abilities. Student Council

The purpose of Student Council is to foster leadership opportunities, enact effective student representation, encourage school spirit through planned activities, and promote communication within Wawasee High School and surrounding community. Students may join at the beginning of the school year. There is an application process with a form. Student Council is given a Warrior Time during the school day, but additional time after school will be needed to implement the numerous events we lead such as Homecoming, Semi-Formal, Veteran's Day program, Syracuse/Webster trail clean up, Pow Wow event, etc. For more information, contact Mrs. Myers at kmyers@wawasee.k12.in.us

Key Club

Key Club is an international, student-led organization that provides its members with opportunities to provide service, build character and develop leadership. Key Club members will learn how to lead and stand for what's right through various service projects and volunteerism opportunities. Key Club service projects include: Stuff the Bus (gathering non-perishable food for our local food pantries) Penny Pitch (collecting dollars to help students in need around Christmas) Callie Cares (collecting travel-size toiletries for Riley Hospital patients and parents) Showing our teacher's appreciation throughout Teacher Appreciation Week Highway Clean-Up Other Various Service Projects through the local Kiwanis Club Meetings During Warrior Time For more information, contact Jennifer McKinney at jmckinney@wawasee.k12.in.us or 574.457.3147 ext. 2288

Drama Club

Drama club is for any high school student interested in the arts. We go to movies together, work on the set of the school shows, take field trips to see shows, do crew or makeup for shows and all sorts of fun things. You don't have to be on stage to be in drama club. We post events in a Google classroom. Gain access to the Google classroom by paying $2.00 membership dues. Vocal Motion


The Wawasee High School Robotics Team, aka the Iron Pride, was formed in September of 2013. The Team was formed to advance the STEM skills of students at Wawasee High School in Syracuse Indiana through the use of robotics, and to promote 21st Century careers in STEM related fields. Currently the team competes in the VEX Robotics Challenge and is a part of Wawasee Robotics, which extends its program down to the elementary level with LEGO WeDo. The team currently consists of 45 students grades 9-12, on 10 VRC teams. The short term goals of the team are:

  • to compete in the VEX Robotics Challenge
  • to host 2 local competitions each season
Long term goals for the team consist of:
  • Winning the Indiana VRC State Championships - goal met in 2017, and 2019
  • Competing in the VRC World Championships - goal met in 2017-2019
  • Growing the program to encompass 10% of the school’s student body
  • Mentoring middle school students in the VRC with Wawasee Middle School students Competing at the State championships goal met in 2017-2019
  • Hosting multiple state and regional competitions - goal met for the 2017-2019 school year
  • Becoming financially self-sufficient through hosting competitions and sponsorship

Academic Superbowl

Academic Super Bowl provides students a chance to have fun learning about topics that they may not get to in regular classes. Each year, students compete in teams against other schools to show what they have learned on a specific topic. There are five subjects represented: English, Science, Math, Fine Arts, and Social Studies. There are three competitions each spring, and teams who qualify for state travel to Purdue in May to compete for the state title in each subject. Anyone can join and there is no fee to participate!
